Brian Ahearn, Senior Instructor
| Brian graduated cum laude from Miami University in 1986 where he was named The Outstanding Senior in General Business. Upon graduation, he joined The Travelers Insurance Companies as a personal lines underwriter and was quickly promoted to commercial lines underwriter. In 1990 Brian made the move to State Auto Insurance, joining the company in a commercial underwriting capacity. In 1993 Brian moved in the sales area with State Auto. For more than 15 years Brian’s been developing sales training courses and conducting sales workshops. He also acts as a sales coach to three dozen sales managers at State Auto, helping them develop strategies for employee development that will lead to profitable sales growth. During his time in the insurance industry Brian earned his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. He also pursued speaking opportunities and earned the Competent Toastmaster (CTM) designation from Toastmasters International. His work in the sales arena led Brian to begin studying the science of influence. He’s currently one of only two dozen people in the world to hold the Cialdini Method Certified Trainer (CMCT) designation. This specialization in the psychology of persuasion was earned directly from Dr. Robert B. Cialdini – the recognized authority on the science of ethical persuasion. Brian’s passion for the topic lead him sot start blogging on the use of ethical influence and persuasion in everyday situations.
